Abbott-Carlson Scholarship Fund
“The mission of the Abbott-Carlson Scholarship Fund is to provide financial encouragement to any Caldera student who completes high school and achieves admission to college or trade school. It is my belief that education is a legacy that can be passed on through future generations.” -Linda Carlson
Scholarship Details
All graduating high school seniors with at least four years of experience with Caldera are invited to apply. Once accepted, recipients must maintain a 3.0 GPA and may renew the scholarship every year for up to four years. Recipients submit reports at the conclusion of each school year describing their success, struggles, and surprises.
Who are these people, Abbott & Carlson?
“The Abbott stands for Stanley Abbott, my grandfather and a lifelong adventurer and entrepreneur. I named the scholarship for him because he so believed in a college education that anytime a grandchild was born, he took out an insurance policy on them to help pay for their tuition years later.”
“The Carlson in the scholarship name stands for Virginia and Jim Carlson, my mother and father. They saved all their lives and even in old age flew standby. I used to urge them, “Spend the inheritance!” Thank goodness they did not because it funds this wonderful scholarship. ” -Linda Carlson
